Elaine Dilay

Elaine Dilay is a Christian contemporary artist based in Niverville, Manitoba, with more than 20 years of experience creating original abstract artwork.

Working with acrylics, epoxy resin, texture and mixed media, Elaine is known for creating distinctive works that explore movement, depth, colour and form. Her multilayered approach allows each piece to develop organically, resulting in original artwork with a strong sense of movement and visual depth.

Elaine was also an early pioneer in resin homewares, publicly demonstrating and exhibiting resin cheeseboards, serving pieces and other applications of resin art as early as 2016. Her early exploration of epoxy resin helped expand her work beyond the canvas, applying her abstract style to functional pieces for the home.

Elaine’s creative process is deeply connected to her faith. She approaches her work prayerfully and under the leading of the Lord, allowing intuition, movement and the nature of the materials to help guide each piece as it develops. For Elaine, creating is both a gift and a calling—one she holds with an open hand and a trusting heart.

Over the years, Elaine has created original artwork for private collectors, businesses, designers and commercial spaces. Her commitment to excellence and continual refinement of her craft can be seen throughout each collection she releases.

Above all, Elaine gives glory to the Lord for the gift to create and hopes her artwork brings beauty, inspiration and meaningful presence to the spaces in which it is placed.

From the Kitchen Table to a 1,000 Sq. Ft. Studio

There was a time when I created artwork on our kitchen table. It meant plenty of setup, teardown and cleanup, but it was where this journey began.

Eventually, I moved from the kitchen table to a guest bedroom, then to our loft, until my husband suggested I take over the entire basement. Today, I create from approximately 1,000 square feet of dedicated studio space, along with additional workspace in our garage.

Working from home has allowed me to build a career as an artist while still being present for my family. Raising our three boys while building my art business has been an important part of my journey.

I love that my children have grown up surrounded by creativity and entrepreneurship—and have watched their mom turn a love of creating into a career.

What began at our kitchen table has grown into something I could never have imagined.
